This weekend the Seneca Sting are on the road. The trip starts Friday as the Sting will be traveling from Toronto to Ottawa to face Le Cite tip-Off is at 7:00pm. The next afternoon the Sting will face the top team in the East, Algonquin, tip-off is at 1:00pm.
This is an important weekend for the Sting, they are currently tied for 5th playoff spot and only 1 game behind Flemming for the 4th spot. The Sting have one game in hand and hold the tiebreaker if both teams are tied at the end of the regular season. Also close in the hunt for the 5th and possibly the 4th spot in the standings is Georgian College who have been playing some very good basketball over the past couple of weeks.
Should be a tight race for 4th over the next week as both Seneca and Flemming play this weekend and Georgian will play their final game of the season at Seneca (Newnham Campus) on March 22, 2011, tip-off at 8:00pm.
With Seneca being the only team with three games remaining they could solidify the 4th spot with 2 wins this weekend. Both road games will be tough for the Sting as both teams, especially Algonquin, have been playing well. The Sting will end the regular season game against Georgian which is shaping up to be an important game for both teams. Seneca won the first meeting earlier this year.
