Sting heads into the exam/holiday break with a WIN!

The Seneca Sting (6-5) ended the 2010 portion of their regular season schedule with an 80-72 victory over the Centennial Colts (4-7) in OCAA men's basketball on Tuesday December 7, 2010.

Third-year shooting guard Vadim Halimov (Uzbekistan) scored a team-high 28 points to lead Seneca. Teammates Elytimus Franks (Toronto) and Norman Hamilton (Toronto) were both two rebounds short of a double-double with 16 and 15 points, respectively.

Seneca first-year guard Dean de Jesus (Toronto) led all players with 10 assists.

Centennial first-year guard Adeel Sahibzada (Toronto) led all players with 30 points. Teammate Atill Williams (Toronto), a third-year forward, earned a double-double with 21 points and 11 boards.

With the win, Seneca ended a two-game losing streak. Centennial has now lost two straight. Seneca, the No. 10-ranked team in Ontario, is currently in fifth place in the OCAA East standings, four points ahead of eighth-place Centennial. The top six teams in each division earn post-season berths.

Both teams resume regular season play in January. Centennial visits Cambrian on Jan. 9 while Seneca hosts Loyalist on Jan. 11.
